“Meeting the challenge of producing thoughtful and creative work is our core responsibility.”

As HEWITT's Founder and its first Principal Emeritus, David is known for designing projects that are catalysts for change in their communities. His ability to make the urban living experience positive and productive, thereby creating urban advocates, is his hallmark.

The innovation, creativity and pragmatism in his work exemplifies the role of architect as civic leader. David served on numerous civic boards, commissions and professional committees. The National AIA elevated him to the College of Fellows and in 2005 he received the AIA Seattle Medal of Honor for distinguished contributions to design.
