Seattle Municipal Tower Entry

Seattle Municipal Tower Entry

completed: 2004

Renovation to the base of Seattle Municipal Tower improves public access and safety for the thousands of City employees and citizens who use this entrance each day. Clear, simple gestures provide unity to the glass atrium at the tower base. A grand stair leads people from the vestibule to the lower level, offering opportunities for public art or retail uses. The design improves connections between the tower and the new civic center campus and simplifies vehicular and pedestrian circulation. HEWITT aimed to maximize opportunities for sustainable design options. The space uses zero net energy with natural ventilation and natural daylighting.
