Part of the long-anticipated East Link Extension connecting Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond, the Judkins Park Station knits together a diverse community divided by I-90 for decades and provides connection and access to greater employment choices as well as services and learning institutions.
Located at the center roadway of I-90, riders will enter the station from Rainier Avenue South and 23rd Avenue South. The design is driven by existing structure restrictions and patron experience serving pedestrians, bicycle and bus transfer passengers. Removal of a WSDOT pedestrian bridge provides a significant increase in daylight on Rainier Avenue South. A bright station entry, with a lobby and stair, provides safe and direct access to the station platform.
Utilizing artwork depicting local hero Jimi Hendrix, the station itself will be an icon of connection for the community and a proud symbol of the area’s rich heritage.
