For more than 20 years, Julia has been committed to design. As the leader of architectural design at HEWITT, she believes the success of today’s projects rely on the expertise of many.
She is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that promotes participation from a broad range of diverse thinkers. Her experience as a graduate design studio instructor and critic at the University of Washington reinforces her professional practice by guiding projects as an “editor” with teams to form strategies for successful outcomes.
She believes the art and science of making architecture, navigating agencies and complex client organizations requires her to connect the dots at the right time for the right people. In doing so, the most opportunity and value for a client’s project will be realized.
Recently, she served a juror for the 2018 AIA Honolulu Design Awards and for the 2019 University of Washington Distinguished Alumni Awards.
