Project Architect

Our architects are straight-shooter professionals who keep projects on track using sound knowledge of architectural principles and practices. They seek balance between form and function while keeping focus on the people who will engage with the work.

Responsibilities
  • Articulate design and construction concepts graphically in support of project goals
  • Complete accurate production work through all phases of design through completion
  • Coordinate design with affiliated project consultants
  • Coordinate with entitlement and permitting agencies
  • ​Prepare drawings to reflect work directives and change orders ​
  • Resolve project-related technical problems through sound decision-making, judgment, research and collaboration
  • Review and respond to RFIs and Submittals for projects under construction
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews​ as needed​
  • Participate in in-house, project team, and client meetings
  • Participate in coordination​ meetings with contractor and affiliated consultants  as needed​
  • Collaboratively contribute to all team, studio, and firm efforts
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience with significant experience with all stages of project ​including design development ​and overseeing construction phase work
  • Transportation experience; knowledge of and proven experience working with Sound Transit culture, operations, design standards, and program requirements ​is a plus
  • Professional Architect registration; other registrations and certifications (ex. LEED AP) encouraged
  • Professional degree (Master of Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture, or similar)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Revit​ and CAD​ is required
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a US work visa

Project Accountant

As Project Accountant, you have a strong, collaborative relationship with project managers.  You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable translating project financial information to non-financial team members.

 

Responsibilities
  • Set up new projects, close completed projects, make transfers of employee billable hours and/or expenses, and open and close phases.
  • Prepare client billings in accordance with contract.
  • Maintain rate schedules.
  • Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period.
  • Recommend and implement agreed process improvements to the billing cycle.
  • Ensure fully executed contracts are received, properly filed and all insurance requirements are satisfied.
  • Maintain project budget and review financial results on a timely basis.
  • Assist PM with coding of consultant invoices and reimbursable expenses.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and support project managers with collection efforts.
  • Work with the cash receipts team member to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash.
  • Write off any uncollectible receivables, labor or expenses, as directed.
  • Provide support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconciliation.
  • Perform some month-end activities.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of project accounting or billing experience
  • Experience in Deltek Vision preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with AEC firms a plus
  • Contract review experience
  • Knowledge of government contracts
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • BA or BS in Business
  • Proficiency in Excel

Project Manager - Architecture

Our Project Managers are cool under pressure because they are clear communicators and able to manage multiple responsibilities. They are clear leaders who inspire and mentor others.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and develop projects of medium to large scopes of work
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules
  • Lead project team and client meetings
  • Lead in-house design team meetings
  • Lead consultant coordination with affiliated disciplines
  • Lead coordination with entitlement and permitting agencies
  • Lead document coordination and production
  • Participate in public agency meetings
  • Collaboratively contribute to all team, studio, and firm efforts
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with significant project management and design development experience; sustainable design experience with LEED Certification is a plus
  • Professional Architect registration; other registrations and certifications (LEED AP) encouraged
  • Professional degree (Master of Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture, or similar)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Revit is required
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a US work visa

Specifications Writer

Our Specifications Writer is a veritable encyclopedia of knowledge about industry standards, current product development, and architectural practices. They are excited about the opportunity to work with specifications in the public and private sector supporting architecture, interior design, and interior design projects.

Responsibilities
  • Develop specifications for complex technical projects
  • Work closely with project teams to formulate the Firms specification processes and standards, develop and maintain Firms custom specification masters and inserts
  • Research and make available specification technical resource tools to project teams and individuals involved in the production of specifications
Qualifications
  • A professional degree in architecture preferred.
  • Architectural license, LEED accreditation, and certification as specification writer preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in all phases of architecture and experience in the preparation of construction documents, with an emphasis on the preparation of construction specifications on large-scale projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural design, documentation, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques and costs, as well as building material compatibility and characteristics.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards, current product development, and architectural practices.
  • Working knowledge of contract language, liability, indemnifications, and definitions.
  • Experience with both public sector and private sector specifications and bidding processes.
  • Experience with BSD SpecLink and Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with specifications for architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design projects is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of professional practice issues and documents relating to specifications, including special requirements for front-end specifications.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment
